A certified translation is a translation that includes a paragraph by the translator stating that the translation is a true and correct translation of the original and displaying the translator's credentials and contact information.
Documents for sworn translations should be fully executed by all parties and have all corresponding seals. The certified translation is the last step.
Seals, signatures, and marginal notes will all be translated, unless otherwise indicated by the client. A special paragraph will be printed at the beginning and/or at the end of each certified translation. The translation will be signed by and bear the seal of the translator. Certified translations are either delivered in printed format, or delivered in digital format, depending on the client's specifications according to the requirements of the receiving entity.
If you have several originals or certified copies of a single document, each original or certified copy is considered a separate translation even if they are essentially the same document. Each document must be handled separately for translation, review, print, and certification by the translator.
In certain countries (for example, in Venezuela), if you need several copies of the same certified translation, you may request that the original translation be notarized. And request the Venezuelan Notary Public Office to issue the number of certified copies you need. This will depend on the laws of each country, and does not apply to the US.
We deliver electronically signed copies of our certified translations, which you may print as needed. When you place your order, you will have the option of ordering additional hard copies signed and sealed by the translator for an additional cost.
All our certified translations include both an electronically signed and certified digital copy sent to you via email and a sealed and signed certified hard copy of the translation sent via USPS to you to the address supplied by you.
For certified translations, please send us scanned copies of the documents you need translated. We will send you a free quote. You may also schedule a free consultation.
Sending blurry, distorted, or barely readable images/PDFs will add time and effort to the translation process and may affect the final price.
The turnaround time varies depending on our availability, the number of pages to be translated, and the document's complexity (whether it has tables, special formatting, small print, or barely legible text; all this may affect the translation effort and time). Turnaround time for a standard 1-page document is around 24 hours.
Rush translations are an option, please contact us to get prices for same business day delivery of certified translations.
Certified translations are generally required for foreign documents that are to be submitted to a legal authority in a country usually for immigration or legal purposes. Sometimes a simple translation will suffice. Different laws & regulations apply, please check with the entity receiving the document for their specific requirements.
For example:
"Be aware that USCIS also has regulations about translations of civil documents. The Electronic Code of Federal Regulations on Aliens and Nationality has the following paragraph:
(3) Translations. Any document containing foreign language submitted to USCIS shall be accompanied by a full English language translation which the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and by the translator’s certification that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.
The certification format should include the certifier’s name, signature, address, and date of certification."
